WASTE LAND BOARD.

The weekly meeting of the Board was held to-day; present—the Chief Commissioner, Moser* Bast .ug v Butfcerworth, Clark. Reid, and Strode.

, Ranger Hnghan reported on Mr Alex. Aysons application to purchase sec. 27. bl. 2, Warepa, and a strip of land adjoining, to completehis property. He also reported on Messrs Cable and Drummond’ application to purchase seb. 34, bl. 7 Clarendon. The first application was refused ; the second to be advertised for thirty days, and then be sold by auction at an upset price of 20s per acre. Messrs Gellibrand and , v mith applied for pre-emptive right of 50 acres on run 218, including buildings and paddocks. To be forwarded to the District Land Office for advice.

_ The chairman of the wardens of the Toes Toes Hundred wrote, as to, the pablioation pi statement of receipts and expenditure for the year 1874. Read. ; The Oatnarn Corporation recommended a license being granted to Mr J. May for secs. I to 4, bl. 55, Camara. Postponed. : ■ Mr J. Elder mad ethers , complained of ;tbeir applications for deferred payments land net bein ' received at. the Clyde District Land Office. Referred .to Warden Simpson for advice. W. Rowlatt, for the Naseby Church of England Committee, applied to purchase piece of land at Naseby, adjoining the .ohnrch site. Referred J to Government to. see if there is any objection. Mr Hngh Wilson applied to purchase his residence area of a quarter of an acre at tNaseby. Shrvsy to be forwarded. Mr J. jftldn applied to purchase seel 24, bl. 7, Tnapeka West, at 20s per acre Approved.

. Plan of unsnrveyed application No. 51 F was passed by the Board. Granted. Mr Driver applied that geos. 2 and 3, bl. 2, and parts of sec 2, 6, and 8, Glehkemch, be thrown open for application under deferred payments. Tho * hief Commissioner to inquire if the sections have been forfeited, and if so to be thrown .open. •„

The Government were reoom* mended te return the deposit paid; the auctioneer to be asked to explain how the mistake complained of occurred ; Mr Green* wood’s actual expenses to be, refunded. It ; was also decided that in future, in order to prevent mistakes in advertisements In the ‘Gazette’ regarding land sales, a proof ;Copy be forwarded for the Chief Commissioner for revision.
