The following is an account of the events which took place too late to be noticed in yesterday’s issue

A special prize was again awarded to W. Denholm, who also took the prizes for the Irish Jig and the Clog Dance, he being the only competitor.

Handicap Walkino Race. Two miles. Prizes. L 4, L2, aud LI. W. Stuart (170 yds) x J. Campbell (20 yds) ... 2 F. Ashton (scratch) 3

F. Wilson (42 yds) also started. Ashton forced the pace at the start, gradually gaining on Campbell. In the second round Wilson withdrew, and in the third Ashton had got up within a yard of Campbell. Stuart still going on ahead in good style. Theref was no change in the respective positions from this till the tenth round, but then Campbell spurted and walked away from Ashton, who had been lying a yard behind him for seven laps. In the twelfth round Campbell made a fresh effort and thereby increased hislejid of Ashton to about fifty yards and pulled up to within twenty yards of btuart. Ashton went plodding on, without quickening his pace in the slightest.’ In the thirteenth lap Campbell went up to and passed Stuart, and kept a yard in front of him through the fourteenth and fifteenth, and until eighty yards from home. Here Campbell spurted vigorously, thinking, doubt less, to leave .'■tuart standing; bub, to everybody’s astonishment, the latter made an answering effort, came up on the outside, and won by twenty yards—Campbell caving in. Ashton was 100 yards behind. Time, Ifiruiu l.'Jsec. Ihe general opinion l on the ground was that Ashton, a new walker here, did nob try very hard to win, and that he will yet prove a dangerous opponent. These were not very interesting contests. Tyson, sen,, Fothergill, ami R. Tyson secured the prizes for men; L. Edwards, T Edwards, and Curran those for youths. Ego and Ladle Race.—Five Prizes. D. Sima * 5 This race caused a great deal of amusement, though some of the competitors walked in first-rate style, especially the winner. The time was Stnin 12 sec. Consolation Handicap Race.—Prizes, L2, LI 10a, and LI. Twenty yards. J. Gebbie 1 W. Henderson ] 2 W. Nightingale j 3 Won by two or three yards ; a good race for second money.
