At the regular meeting held to-day, there were present The Chief Commissioner (Mr Thomson), Messrs Strode, Clark, Butterworth, and Bastings. It was decided to request the Municipal Council of Oamaru to express on opinion upon the matter. Alex. Cameron applied to withdraw his application for section 4, block 16. Waipahee. Mr M'Ardell having resigned the appointment of auctiouear to the Board for the Queenstown district it was decided to refer to the Government the matter of appointing a successor. A survey to be forwarded and approved by the Chief -urveyor. Herbert applied to purchase sections 17, 18, 19. 25, 27, 28, block 4, and 9, 10, 19, 20, 21, 22, 24, block 5, Oreenvale. As th< s ctions applied for were marked “ not open” en the survey maps, it was resolved to request the uperintendent to withdraw them from sale, and to reserve them until advertised as open for sale in terms of section 3 of the Land Administration Act. A. R. Neville, on behalf of W. Simmonds, applied to purchase or lease two acres inlinediate.y behind sections 2 and 7, blocks 15 and 16, T. apanui Government to be recommended to lay off the whole township into town and suburban sections in a systematic manner.
