THE THISTLE NUISANCE.
To the Editor. Sir, —Your leader on the thistle nuisance ia a very sensible one. I quite agree with you that the 'Road Boards should have the control of the matter. Otherwise I fear that the thistle nuisance will never be removed—not at least by the Provincial Council, while its members possess so many broad acres. As for thistles dying out in two or three years, it is the greatest rot ever uttered I have had thistles growing on the same land -grass land—for seven years, and the seventh crop ia as heavy as the first. In i act, do what I will, I cannot keep them iown. Last year it cost me 10s per acre to clear the thistles off my land, and this year it has cost me 15s, while I have still enough left to cost me at least 10s per acre more. I have almost concluded to give up the attempt to clear the land, as it seems to me a hopeless task, while my neighbors allow theirs to grow all around me. Of one thing lam sure, and that is that unless something is done land on the Peninsula in a short time will not be fit for aught but asses to browse upon, and to which our legislative asses should be consigned,—l am, &c., Anti-Humbug.
