The steamer Comerang arrived yesterday from Oamaru. The ship Gareloch was admitted to pratique this afternoon. # The three-masted schooner Euphrosyne arrived from the coast on Saturday. The barque Agnes, for Newcastle, was towed to sea this morning by the tug Geelon". The ship May Queen, for London, will be towed to sea by the tug Geelong this mornihg. The s.s, Wanganui returned from the Bluff at 4 p.m. yesterday. She left the Bluff at midnight on the 20 th. The p.s. Samson returned on Saturday afternoon from her usual trip to Oamaru, and steamed alongside the ship Nelson to discharge wool • The N.Z.S.S. Co.’s s.s. Phoebe arrived alongside the railway pier at 1 p.m, yesterday. She left Manakau on the I6th, Taranaki on the 17th, Nelson on the 18tb, Wellington at 4.30 p.m. on the 19th, and Lyttelton at 3 p.m. on the 20th. The topsail schooner Excelsior sailed up this morning with a light N.E. wind. She brings 222 damped bales of wool from Napier for transhipment to the barque Sunlight. She left Napier on the 10th inst., with S.W. winds, which continued until passing Cape Palliser on the 14th, when she got a southerly wind until passing Bank’s Peninsula on the 18 th, when she got % breeze from the northward, which only lasted for twelve hours, then S.E. winds to arrival at the Heads. Yesterday it was rumored in the Port that the yacht Anonyma had been placed in quarantine through being within the limits prescribed by the quarantine regulations. As far p.s we can ascertain, the yacht got under way on Saturday for a cruise, and unfortunately got ashore just below the ship Oamaru, The harbor launch Result was at the time down at the Oamaru on official business, and attempted to tow her off, but, it being ebb tide, could not succeed. Those on board the yacht were then invited to take a passage to the Port in the launch, which they did, leaving the yacht at the _ quarantine ground, where she remained until this morning. This circumstance gave rise to the rumor that the yacht had been placed in quarantine. SHIPPING TELEGRAM. Wellington, February 22. —Arrived: Barque Ardentinny, from London. She brings no passengers, but a lot of pure-bred stock for Napier and 4 number of English birds. Good Templar and Osseo, from Dunedin.
