THE OPERA.

.1 here was a more than moderate circle and a decidedly good downstairs attendance at the Princess's last; evening to witness “The Bohemian Girl,” in which Air Rainford made his reappearance m his favorite character of Count Arnheim. His reception was cordial in the extreme, and the continued applause with winch he was greeted really meant his audience saying, “ We’re glad to see you.” The opera went with much smoothness; indeed, we liked last night’s representation better than any previous one in either this or the last season. Every one of the principals was in good voice, and the choruses were given with unusual precision and sweetness. The audience’s thorough satisfaction took the form of demanding encores wliercver it was possible to do so. Miss May had to repeat “I dreamt I dwelt” and the introduced air of “You and I ” in the final act ; Mr llallam to give a second time “The lair Land of Poland,” and to bow his acknowledgments for “ When other Lips Mr Rainford to repeat “ The Heart bowed down,” and Air Stoacham to give twice his trombone solo oa the last-mentioned air, while M. Fieury deservedly gained a round of applause for his selo , I dreamt that I dwelt. This evening “The Rose of Castile ” will be produced, and tor the convenience of port visitors to the opera a special train be run.
