CIVIL SESSIONS. Tuseday, January 26. (Before his Honor Mr Justice Chapman and a Special Jury.) . v. Morrison.— This case was adjourned from Monday to allow the declaration sto be amended. Mr Macassey, one of plaintiff s counsel, was absent through sickness, but Mr Barton was present ; for defendant, Messrs Smith and Stout appeared. John Copeland, solicitor, of Lawrence, said he had some dealings with defendant on plaintiff’s 7 Witness asked defendant to pay him LiOO, due to plaintiff on the Round Hill con.raot, but defendant, through his solicitor, Mr M Loy, paid only LSO, receiving a receipt “ to account of salary due.” Charles Irvine, plaintiff, was examined at great length, giving evidence to the same effect as stated by counsel in opening the case, and the Court then adjourned to next day.
