Mr Hooper reports that no improvement in *' the share market has taken place during the week ending to-day, excepting, perhaps, in quartz mining shares, Lucknow Quartz Mining have advanced from 55s to from L 3 to L 4, the report of gold having been struck having made quite a rush for shares. Great activity seems to prevail along the whole lino of this celebrated reef. From the absence of information, Shotovcr Terrace continue depressed, LI shares selling for la. Colonial Bank shares have slightly declined, 25a paid-up selling for 20s. .National Banks 70s paid-up selling for 68s; Mosgiel’s are at 58s 8d for L 3 paid; National insurance, 28s ; Standard Insurance’ 10s. ’
