WASTE LAND BOARD.
The weekly meeting of the Board was held this morning; present—The Chief Commissioner, Messrs Bastings, Butterworth, Reid, Strode, and Clark.
Mr A. Tolmie asked perurssion to abandon sections 32 and 33, block 7, Waipahee. taken up under the deferred payment system, aud also whether he would be re* comptnaed for his improvements by the next selector. The Board decided that it had no power to deal with the matter.
The district land officer at Clyde reported on the application of Mr U. Campbell for pre-emptive right of 548 acres on Run 239. Agricultural lease to be granted. The district laud officer reported on Mr Thomas Jamison’s application for 200 acres of Dalhousie township reserve. The application was refused.
Mr John Gamble wrote objecting to large blacks being taken up by one person in Beaumont Hundred. Refemd to the dia* trict land officer for advice.
The following applications for exchange of leases were dea-t with s— Mr Timothy Sheehy, section 37, block 3, Mount Benger (approved); Mr Timothy Crowley, section 29, block 4, Tuapeka East (refused) ; Mr James Ogilvie, sections 30 and 66, block 6, Shotover (approved). Jhe following applications for land were dealt with :—Mr K. Lancaster, sections 13 and 14, block 3, Beaumont (approved); Mr W. Smith, section 27, block 2, luapeka West (approved); Mr D. Stevenson, section 13, block 7, Waitahuna East (approved.) Mr James Heulett applied for section 4, block 27, held under an agricultural lease. Approved.
