The amount of revenue received at the Ous-tom-house or *.oods cleared for consumptioi this day was L 1,536 Os lid. At a meeting of the provisional directors of the Albion Brewing Company yesterday, the agents reported that there had been taken up 34.161 of the 40,000 shares required, and these were distributed amongst 152 applicants, fully one-third of whom are publicans, hotelkeepers, and storekeepers, who may be expected to be good customeis of the • ’ompany—the rest being chiefly members of influential business firms” and private individuals of high standing in the community. Promises beyond the number of actual applications had been received to a considerable extent. Plans of alterations and additions to thebuilding, which would cost about L 2.500, were submitted, as were also returns of probable expenses, business, and profit.
