To the Editor. Sir,— ln your report of the above in last Monday’s issue you say that I gave up in the second lap of the walking match because the pace was too warm for me. The fact is I was disqualified, and in any other place but Dunedin would have been cautioned first \ our report further states that Nightingale was third in the Consolation race. That I ? e “ y . I was two yards in front of him. Now, i should like to know who was judge of that race. I have been told by several whom I asked that such was the decision of the judge, but I have not been able to ascertain who that functionary was.
