To the Editor.

Sir, —I read a paragraph in your issue of last evening, stating that a pedestrian named Mtark, who competed at the Kiverton Caledonian games on Boxing Day, was disqualified from ever running at that p ace again, on account of having pulled up in a 400 yards race aud allowing an opponent to pass him. His proper name is Charles .sterck. He first appeared on the M.C.C. Grounds about six years ago, aud run on them regularly till he came to New Zealand,—l am, &c , One who Knows. Dunedin, January 9.
