DIRTY LAMPS.

To the Editor, Sir,—Yi?itors to Dunedin will observe that the gas in our streets is not particularly bright, and that the lamps are die* gracefully dirty. Last evening, while cn* joying a pleasant walk wjth some laches, we could not fail to notice the dirty state of the street lamps, as compared with the clean glass and bright lights in other cities. Surely the City Council could employ some of the immigrants in cleaning the street lamps daily.—lam, &c., _ _ • Viator. Dunedin, December 29.
