A SUGGESTION.

To 'he Editor. Sir, —Tn commemoration of the Waterworks being transferred to the City Council, as the property of the ratepayers, I would beg to suggest the erecion of a bronze fountain, about 20fb in height, «i‘h basin. < f course it would be a work of art, and as such would be an ornament to the City, co <- spicuous to visitors. The Octagon, 1 should say, would be the proper site. If it is worth doing i am sure the City Council will vote a sum adequate to the erection of a work of art reflecting on the good taste and liberality of the people A sum of LSOO would not be excessive.—l am, &c , Fons. Dunedin, December 17.
