As wo state'! on Saturday, the Portobello Company should hja ve fired in the final stage for Colonial representatives on Friday, but the firing had to be postponed till the next day owing to the heavy rain and a strong S.W. wind. On Friday the weather was again unfavorable, and the men fired under protest. Volunteer Dixon did net go to the range, not being able to proceed to the lhames had he succeeded in gaining a place, and in consequence Lieut. No cause for complaint can then be found with the weather, and no one will be enabled to have a fiat issued stopping any competition.
