THE BAND OF HOPE.
To the Editor, Slß> Will you allow me, through the medium of your paper, to make a few remarks m reference to the Dunedin Baud of Hope ? I understand that but a few mouths ago it was in a nourishing condition, and had in connection with it a drum and fife band. iNow, however, it is broken up, and where the instruments of the band are but few, if any, know. Those who had toe management of it seem to have sunk into a state of lethargy, into which their principles should newer have allowed them to fall. A Band of i'iopeis really required in Dunedin, and tliose who understand the state of the affairs of the late Band of Hope should at once endeavor to re-form it, lor I feel confident that it will not require very great exertion on their part to do so.—lam, &c,, _ ~ J- A THIEL BesWICK.
