The amount of revenue received at the Ous :tom-house on <.oods cleared for consumption this day was L 1,060 9s 6d. Mr A. Mercer reports for the week ending November 27 (retail prices only) : Fresh butter, in | and 1 lb prints, Is Id to Is 3d per lb; lump do, Is per lb; powdered and salt butter, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb. The supply of fresh butter continues to be very plentiful, and a further reduction in the price has taken place. Several of the dairy farmers have now commenced salting down rather than sell at the present prices, and butter may not be so plentiful after this. Salt butter, in keg, very prime, Is ld to Is 2d per lb, but no demand, owing to imported butter selling cheapex’. Side and rolled bacon in good demand at Is per lb: ■Colonial hams, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb; English hams, very little demand, Is 4d to Is 6d ; beef hams, 9d. Eggs are not so plentiful this week, and are retailing at Is Bdand Is 9d per dozen. Mr S. E. Shrimski reports that he held a Government land sale of the*Papakaio Railway Reserve. The amount realised was L 5,300. Several lots were withdrawn, in consequence of the up-set price not being offered.
