THE SHOTOVER MINE.
To the Editor, Sir, The many correspondents, and yours among the rest, seem to be totally ignorant as to the, position I occupied relative to the hbot.wer Terraco Company. I beg, once for all, to say that it was not for prospecting the mine that I was em. ployed by that Company, but simply at first as a mining engineer to lay d-wn a plant for the more expeditious working of the known leads already opened for that purpose, and lastly I was manager for about «ix weeks, at haif time, to see the said plant in full working order. I was aware that the so-called rich block Was in the wrought ground, but never attempted to find it and was of the opinion then as now, that it was of no worth to the Company. I have denied the statements made by the * Witnesss correspondent in a letter to that paper, but the editor has refused me the privilege of reply. - I am sorry to trouble you in this matter, but seeing se many references in the different papers, I am anxious that parti s interested may bo aware of the facts,--! am, 23.
