The company intends starting a. fife and drum band under Urn leadersh-p of Mr Cortison, who was for many years landmaster of the Royal Welsh r’usilii i - s. The Grahamstown Rifle Volunteers have Iv ed for choice of district representatives. I’iie five qualified are—Sergeant John Jones, ST; W. Edwards. S3; John Jones, 86; Woodman. 86 ; Earn, 84 - Wellington Artillery Volunteers. Rattan, 88 ; Diamond, 83 —Napier Artillery Volunteers. At the representative firing, the four qualified were —Green, 88; Provost, 85; Sellars, 84; Reuouf, S3. Ihe average was 83£. The wind was puffy.
