The amount of revenue received at the Our,-lam-house on goods cleared for consumption this ;lay ’aks L 632 5s 9d.
Messrs M'Laudress, Hepburn, and Co. to day offered for sale the sugars ex Ardour, from Mauritius. The trade was fully represented, but few lots were sold, owing to the Yarraville and Melbourne sugars being placed in the market at a lower figure. Finest snowdrops fetched from L 34 15s to L 35, and brewing crystals (of which three out of five lines were sold) * r rn 1 L33to L 34. The others w ere passed. The following is Mr A. Mercer’s report (retell prices only) for the week ending to-day : Fresh butter, in £lb and 11b prints, Is 4d to Is 5d per lb. Prime salt and powdered butter. Is 4d per lb. The supply of fresh butter still continues very plentiful, and a further reduction in price has taken place. Most of the grocers are. salting down large quantities, and there is no sale for salt butter in kegs at Is 3d, as the merchants prevent competing, being able to buy cheaper. Cheese of the best quality is very, scarce at lOd to Is per lb. Side and rolled bacon is in good demand at Is per lb • Colonial hams, Is 2d to Is 3d per lb; beef hams, 9d ; English hams, Is 4d to Is 6d per lb Eggs still very plentiful, and retailing at Is 4d per dozen, [By Telegraph.] Wellington, November 13, O'Shea reEorts flou” Ll3 to Ll3 10s; oatmeal, 2Gs • ran, Is (id to is 7d ; potatoes, L 8 to L 9; barley, 5s to 6s ; wheat—milling, none ; chick, 3s 9d to 4s 4d ; oats, Gs to Gs Gd ; hams scarce, at Is 9d ; bacon scarce, Is ; cheese, 9\d. Mr Duncan reports having sold at auction 200 cases of Tennant’s ale at 11s ; 50 cases of Jeffrey’s in stone, at 10s to 11s ; Jeffrey’s, in glass, at 10s; Salt’s, 10s Gd; Blood’s, !)s 3d ; Arnold’s ale only reached Bs. Columbia salmon, 11s Gd to 12s for 11b tins. Auckland, November 13. —Mr Buckland reports fat sheep in moderate supply and demand, at last week's value. Store cattle : short supply, but in demand. Fat cattle were in average numbers, and throughout the greater part of the sale the last week’s rate ruled, with an improvement toward the close. Christchurch, November 13.-Quotations, free on board at Lyttelton : Wheat. 5s 3d to 5s fid; oats, Gs ; flour, Ll2 10s to Ll3los ; bran, L 6 10s ; pollard, LG 5s ; sharps, L 7 ; cheese, 8d ; potatoes, L 9 to LlO. Millers’ stocks low, and a rise in flour expected.
