Commercial.

The MTiount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on b oodß cleared for consumption this day was L 1,959 16s 4d. Messrs Maclean Brothers report for week ending November 5, as follows: Fat Cattle.—At the weekly market on Wednesday, about 170 were yarded. Very few were prime quality beef, several of the pens being little better than stores, consequently prices were a little easier. Our sales consisted of 66 head, on account of Messrs Lucas, Sherriff, and others, which realised from L 8 10s to L2O for bullocks, and from L 6 10s to L 6 17a 6d for cows. We have also placed privately during . the week 30 head at full rates. Fat Sheep.—About 2,400 of all sorts were penned, but on account of several of the butchers having supplied themselves privately, only about 1,700 were sold, the balance being held over until next week. Our sales consisted of 950, on account of the New Zealand and Australian Land Company, Limited, and others, which realised ; for half breds, from 25s to 27s 9d each ; merinoes, 16s to 18s each. We quote prime cross-bred mutton, 5d to sJcl per lb ; do merino, 4Jd. Fat Calves. —About 20 were penned, which realised from 15s to 35s each, according to quality. We sold 13 at above quotations. Fat Lambs.—A few were penned, which realised from 33s to 14s each. We have sold ' during the week 430 at market rates. Store Cattle.—On Tuesday last, the 4th instant, we held a large sale of 450 head of store cattle at the West Taieri yards, on account of Messrs Ayson and Grant, which were disposed of at the foliowing prices, viz.:—Bullocks, from L 5 12s 6d to L 6 12s 6d; cows, from LS 10s to L 5 2s 6d ; calves, 24s each. We will also sell on Thursday next, the 12th inst., at the same place, in lots to suit purchasers, 300 head of really good, well-bred, quiet cattle, consisting of—Bullocks, speyed cows, and heifers, all over two years old. Store Sheep.—We have inquiries for crossbred and merino wethers in the wool, which we quote at from 13s to 14s each for the former and from 10s to 11s for the latter. Merino ewes with cross-bred lambs at foot 10s to 12s each. Stud Sheep, &c. —We beg to call the particular attention of stockowners and others to our sale of pure Lincoln rams and ewes which will be held at our stores, Mahse street, on Saturday, the 21st inst., when we will offer 19 pure Lincoln rams and 10 ewes, all 2-tooth, just landed ex Calypso, from London, and which can now be seen at our stores, Manse street. We will a 1 so sell by auction, oh Wednesday, 30th December, at the Taieri show, the shorthorn bull, Second Earl of Darlington, just landed ex Calypso, from London, and now to be seen at the Glasgow Arms stables, Dunedin. Wool and Sheepskins.—At our usual weekly sale on Friday last there was a full attendance of buyers, when all the lots catalogued were disposed of at full rate.?. We sold several odd lots of wool and 800 sheej skins, which real Led up to 7s for green half-bred, do., merino, ss; dry station skins, 3s to 5s 6d each, according to weight. Hides, &c.-—We catalogued 132 medium weights, which sold at from 15s to 18s 9rt each, 26 calf skins at 2s each; also several odd lota ■ of tallow at full rates.
