A GRIEVANCE.
To the Editor.
Fir, —High Ward very recently elected three councillors, who all promised to look strictly after the interests of their constituents concerning municipal matters ; but the performance -of that promise is questionable—at least judging from the present condition of Russell street. We have had what sailors call “ dirty weather ” for the last five weeks ; and as this street is under repair at present, its condition is most disgraceful. I am not exaggerating when I say that no one can go between Arthur street and the top of York place without going up to the ankles IR mun. j and this should not be. Some temporary footpath ought to have been laid down for pedestrians ; and our councillors, I presume, should have seen to this state of things. It is not yet too la»e to do so, and also to burry on to its completion the repairing of Russell street.—l am, &c,, ” * V DpLEO, Dunedin, October 18,
