Martell’s 1870 brandy is at 9s, owing to favorable advices. Mauritius sugars have been in demand at advanced rates. Large sales of Cameron’s tobaceoes have been made on the snot, and to arrive. Hops continue in good demand. A large line of Californian oats sold Ut 4s lOd. London, September s.—At the wool sales 116,000 bales were sold, principally to the Home trade. The tone of the market is now weaker. Balme and Co., woolbrokers, report «f the series that the advance in superior and scoured is one penny; low scoured to 2d; washed half-breds. Id to lid; greasy half-bred, $d to Id; greasy merino, sd, Wheat steady, at a decline ; Adelaide, 55s to 58s ; flour, 37a to 43s per 2801b.
