DAIRIES WITHIN THE CITY.
To the Editor . SIR, —A short time ago the City Council made a decided move in the proper direction, by disallowing the depasturing of cattle on the Town Bolt; bnt this move only partially met the evils arising from cattle within the City bound arifs. So long as dairies are allowed within the Qity bopnds, go long will City property be subject to serio s injury, and the lives of citizens and their families to serious risk, the undoubted vigilance of our City inspector notwithstanding. I have heard numerous complaints and agitations on the subject of late. Probably this may have been excited by the election of the new City Council, in the hope that they may see fit to complete the good work which their predecessors began, and I truly hope it may have the desired effect.—l am, &c , Prevention. Dunedin, August 8.
