PORT CHALMERS.
The nomination of Councillors for Port Chalmers—one for High Ward, in the room of Mr Andrew M'Kinnon, elected Mayor, and one for East Ward in room ef Mr Robt, Bolton—took place in the Town Hall, Port
Chalmers, at noon to-day, his Worship the Mayor, Mr Andrew M‘Kmnon, in the chair. The Town Clerk read the following nominations for HIGH WARD. Mr Alfred Haddock, proposed by Mr James Grinlev, seconded by Mr Phillip Beck Mr James Menelaus, proposed by Mr Wm. Scott, seconded >by Mr James Lane. MIDDIE WARD. Mr Thomas Rose, proposed by Mr Thos. Brebner, seconded by Mr George Chick There being only one candidate for Middle Ward, Mr Rose was declared duly elected ; and the election for High Ward was appointed to take place in the Town Hall on the 7th inst.
QUEENS IX) WN. [By Telegraph ] . August 3. The election proceedings on Saturday attracted great interest. A good deal of plumping for auditors took place. The polling was as follows :
SOUTH WARD. Boyne ... ... 61 Collins ... 34 Majority for Boyne ... ... 27 NORTH WARD. Cash .. ... 51 Aldred ... 31 20 AUDITORS. Manders ... 140 Evans ... , f . ... 137 Rodgers .„ ... S3 Messrs Manders and Evans were declared elected.
