Mr Hooper reports that the share-market is rather duller than usual, and stocks generally have slightly declined in value. Present quotations : National Insurance, 30s; Standard Insurance, 12s; South British, 49s to 50s; Arrow River Gold Mining, 9s; Shotover, paidup shares, 7s, and ordinary shares, Is to 2s; Star of the East Quartz Mining, L 7, with improving prospects ; Walton Park Coal Mining, is 6d; Greymouth Coal Company, 9s. Mr Hooper has sold 400 Otago and Southland Investment Company’s shares, at 24s 6d cash.
