Twenty-new members were enrolled, and it was arranged that a meeting should be held fortnightly.

The opening piece is Buckstoue’.-well-known comedy, “ Leap Year,” and the afterpiece a new farce entitled, “ Give me back my Wife. ” The management have been unceasing in their efforts to cater for their atrona’ amusement, and we predict for tomorrow a substantial acknowledgment in the shape of a full house. A deputation, consisting of Messrs J. Shand, M.P.C., J. Allen, M.P, 0, A Todd, T. Todd, A. Aitken, James Forrest, R. Brown, and K. Charters, waited upon his I onor the Superintendent yesterday in re ference to the proposed expenditure or L1.50U for opening up a certain portion of the Silver Stream. It was stated that if the work was carried out in the manner proposed by the Government the lands of the settlers lower down the stream would bo flooded, and that thoobject sought would be better obtained by raising the road instead of deepening the stream; therefore the expenditure should be left in the hands of the Road Board. His Souor submitted to the deputation a report of the surveyor, who has been engaged in •aking levels in the stream, and assured them that nothing further should be done until tbe matter was thoroughly investigated. A deputation introduced by Professor M‘Gregor waited on his Honor the Superintendent yesterday, presenting a petition signed by sixty residents of the Anderson s Bay district, requesting the levelling of a hil| on the road line behind Mr Holmes’s bouse. The deputation also suggested that the prisoners should complete the road line from tbe main road along the beach at the foot of Vauxhall to 'fie Ba> Hotel, thereby saving a distance of nearly a mile and a-half. His Honor said prison labor was much in request, and that it was needed for forming the road further down the beach. He thought the better way would be to have the road formed to Portobello, and * then for one person now using the rpad ten would go. dc .thought there was very little hope of the Government lowering the hill, but promised to bring the whole matter before the Executive.

A special meeting of Court Enterprise, A.0.F., will be held in the South Australian Hall, at eight o’clock to-morrow evening. The united prayer meetings now being held have been so largely attended that it has been necessary to alter .the place of meeting from the Masonic Hall to the First Church. This evening a service will therefore' be held in the latter place.

Mr Wiltshire, tjie pedestrian, is announced to perform the difficult feat of walking 1,000 miles in 1,000 hours. A marquee has been erected just above the Princess Theatre, and a start will be made at eight o’clock this evening.
