PROJECTED DEPARTURES. Beautiful Star, for Lyttelton, July 3. City of Adelaide, for San Francisco, July 3. Maori, for Lyttelton, early. Samson, for Oamaru, July 3. |i Wanganui, for Bluff, July 7.

The a.s. Lady of the Lake arrived this morning from the Molyneux. The schooner Crest of the Wave sailed this morning for Oamaru, via Kakanui. The brigantine Sea Gull sailed this morning, with transhipments from the Janet Court, for Oamaru.

The steamers Maori, for Lyttelton and intermediate ports, and Wanganui, for the Bluff, sailed last night.

The cutter Mermaid sailed to-day alongside the brig Syren, to discharge 180 bags of flour and 13 bags of pollard. We (‘North Otago Times’) are indebted to an Oamaru gentleman for the following information received by private telegram ;—The brig Wave (well known at Oamaru), bound for Newcastle, N. S. W., to this port, with a cargo of coal, encountered heavy weather on the New Zealand Coast, and in consequence of the loss of the sails had been compelled to put into Lyttelton to refit. She is expected to arrive here early this week. The contractors for the launching of the stranded schooner Emulous have abandoned all hope of getting her off the beach at present. The launching apparatus has been removed, and the contractors have left for Dunedin. There is every reason to fear that both the purchaser of the vessel and the men who were the contractors for launching her will suffer considerably. We (‘ North Otago Times ’) hear that it is proposed to make another attempt to launch her m soon as the sea drives her further up the beach.

The s.s. Beautiful Star returned from her venal trip to Lyttelton and intermediate ports at 9.15 this morning, and steamed alongside the ship William Davie to discharge. She left Port Chalmers at 11.30 p m. oh Friday, called at intermediate ports, and arrived at Lyttelton at 10.30 a.m. on Sunday. Discharged and loaded, and left for her return trip at 5 p.m» on Monday; arrived at Timaru at 8.30 a.m. on the 30th, took in a full cargo of grain, and left for Port Chalmers at 8 p.m. last night, arriving as above. Had fine weather during the trip.

The splendid clipper ship Scimitar, flying the flag of the New Zealand Shipping Company, unmoored this morning, and was towed to sea by the Geelong this afternoon. She. is full up, and has a large number of passengers. A good race may be expected between this fine ship and Messrs Patrick Henderson and Co.’s clip per Wild Deer, which is ready for sea, and will sail to-morrow. Both ships are in good trim, and as the Deer is known to be very fast, she will give the Scimitar all her work to beat her. The Scimitar made the fastest run out this season, and is the favorite, but it is a toss of a picayune which will win. SHIPPING TELEGRAM. Wellington, July I.—The City of Adelaide sails for the South at about noon to-day.
