Dr Beke has addressed another letter to the ‘ Times ’ in vindication of his discovery of the true Mount on which Moses received the decalogue. The Rev. Dr Gumming, of the Scotch Church, tevent Garden, said in the course of bis sermon on Sunday night that, according to the assertions of those students of prophecy with whom he had conversed, the Millenium was imminent. He also remarked that, according to the “ prophecies’' of Archbishop Manning and of an eminent statesman who had lately delivered a speech in Glasgow; Europe was upon the eve of the most tremendous religious conflict which had ever occurred. v The * i iberal de I’Est’ publishes the following address, which, it states, is being signed at Mulhouse, and is to be sent to Prince Louis iNapoleon in reply to the Chiselhurst demonstration :—“ M onseigneur —On the occasion of your coming of age, we ex-French citizens, transformed into Germans through the crimes of your father, are sorry to he obliged to inform your 1mg j rial highness that we fervently pray to od that the soil of France may never again be touched by the descendant of Napoleon 111 ” ,
