THE REGATTA.
The following races were run too late for reporting iu our last, night’s issue Canoe Race. The course was once round, and the race was won by Turton, who. however, was only about ten feet ahead of Barton at the finieh —the third man half-a-mite astern.
Watermen’s Race (Pair-oared). • The tar of Peace, Aldinga, and Otago started, but the Aldiuga had had enough of it before going far. The Otago had the race well in hand, and won i>y a few lengths. •
Whaleboat Race. The rivals Maori • Boy and Shark met again, but this time with a different result. The Shark jumped away with a lead, which she kept, and won by about four lengths. ‘
Pair-oared Rasb. ( This was the last event of the day, and a Struggle was expected between the Port aqd Sunedin crews, represented by tke Pioneer id Rob Roy. The Amateur was entered, it evidently only to make a race of it. In consequence of the Pioneer being for fouliug, the first prize went 1 1 the despised Amateur.
