Mr Pish explained that the committee desired to at once proceed with the erection of a permanent building for the purposes of the JtLome ; and the deputation, wished to know if ms Honor could grant them a suitable piece of ground. .
His _ Honor replied that the only piece of ground at all suitable in the possession of the Government was at Peliohet Bay, adjacent to the railway station. He had no doubt the .Executive would grant that. Some members of the deputation were of opinion that the proposed site was rather too far away from the Custom House and the centre of the town; but others thought with his Honor that it was very suitable. It was stated that its extent was fully half an acre.
