The ketches Huon Belle and Eliza M‘Phee both cleared but for Gatlin’s River last evening. The schooner Crest of the Wave sailed last evening for Oamaru, with transhipments from the J. N. Fleming. . The schooner Maid of Otago has on board eighty tons of railway iron, from the ship William Davie, for Oamaru. The schooner Pioneer sailed for Shag Point yesterday, as also the schooner Pearl, which put in here about a week ago for shelter. The Kate Brain, after taking on board a quantity of transhipments from the J. N. Fleming, moved over to the William Davie for sixty tons of railwOT iron, for Oamaru. The brigantine Circe arrived this forenoon from Hokitika with a cargo of 90,000 ft timber, She left Hokitika on the 14th, and, having easterly winds, she chose the south-about route; came round the West Cape on the 19th, and, .having easterly weather, did not get through the Straits until the 24th; yesterday had a fair , wind which brought her along the coast, reaching the Heads at 10 p.m., and anchored until this morning, when she was boarded by the pilot and brought up to the upper harbor. Pilot Louden boarded her off Port Chalmers, and took her on up to Dunedin with a gentle N.E. air and a fair tide. _The s.s. Claud Hamilton arrived in Port Chalmers early this morning from Lyttelton. She left Melbourne on the 9th, passed Port Phillip Heads at 6 p.m., cleared Promontory at 6 a.m. on the 10 th, and passed the Sisters Island the same day; met the s.s Alhambra at 10.20 a.m. on the 11th, standing west. On the 14th encountered a strong gale from the E.N.E, with heavy rain; arrived off Hokitika on the 16th at 1 p.m. ; was Rendered at 2 p.m.; left at 4 p.m.; arrived at Greymouth at 7 p,m. After being tendered she proceeded on to Nelson, arriving there at midnight; left n_ its* on—tho—lOfcbf —ck-nd—LaH- io-oon-tend with a stiff head gale and heavy sea in the Strait, during which she was forced to heave-to until daylight, and then ran into Picton, where she stayed untill the 20th; resumed her course at 7 a.m. on the 21st, and had fine moderate weather, arriving in Wellington the same forenoon ; left again for Lyttelton at 1 p.m, on the 23rd; arrived at the latter port at 7 a.m. on the 24th; left again at 7 p.m. the same day ; arrived at Timaru at 6 a.m, on the 25 th, and left again at 3 p.m. the same day, and experienced very foggy weather,, arriving, as above. She sailed for Melbourne via Bluff thL afternoon.
