DRUNKENNESS.-John Sullivan was discharged with a caution ; Thomas Seale was fined os, with the option of twenty-four hours imprisonment; James Ingles ss, or forty-eight hours ; Patrick Geary and Henry Mpody 10a, or forty-eight hours ; Bavid Tuppin, whose language was described by the Sub-Inspector as “disgusting, filthy, and beastly, L 5, or fourteen days. Assault on a Constable,— James L. U Bnen was charged with resisting Constable Rooney, Walker street, whilst in the execution of his duty.—Prisoner denied the charge, saying that the constable had made a premeditated attack on him.—On the application of Sub-Inspector Mallard, prisoner was remanded till to-morrow, bail being allowed in the sum of 1,2 6 Ship Desertion. -John O’Brien, charged with deserting from the ship Durham, was also remanded till to-morrow, : ' Breach of the Peace.— John Hunter, who ' was charged with using insulting behaviour in Princes street, said he thought he might

as well plead guilty. He met a “chum,’’and they held a conversation (which ihe constable mistook for being in earnest) as follows :-I sud “ Hallo, Billy Lyons, the moulder (that is his trade) is that you,” and ho said “ Yos Johnny Hunter, the imoulder (that is me), is that you?” (Laughter.)— The evidence of the arresting constable was to the effect that prisoner was under the influence of drink and talked loudly in the streets. He was fined 10s.
