Darwin acknowledged himself sold whan his little niece asked him what a cat has that no other animal has, and he gave it up after mature deliberations, and then the sly little puss answered “ kittens !” • On a tombstone in South Carolina is the following beautiful tribute to departed worth : Here lies the body of Robert Gordon, Mouth almighty, and teeth according ' Stranger, tread lightly over this,wonder, If he opens his mouth, you are gone by thunder.” ‘ J
