DISTRESSING ACCIDENT.

FIVE MEN REPORTED DROWNED. Shortly before we|went to press we learned of a sad. case of drowning, which occurred in the Harbor ; but we were unable to obtain full particulars. It appears that seven men tailors, we believe—went out this morning with the intention of pulling to Port Chalmers, and when about half-way down, a gale coming oh, the boat was upset, and five of them drowned. Before starting they were cautioned that it was positively dangerous to go out, but having made up their minds to go to the Regatta, they pulled away. Particulars will be given to-morrow.
