Sir, —I notice in your report of to-day’s proceedings in the Resident Magistrate’s Court a man named Johnson received a sentence of six months’ imprisonment for stealing a jacket valued at Li 10s. In a previous issue I observed that one Glover received the modest sentence of one mouth’s imprisoment for stealing a quantity of clothing valued at L 4 I only ask. is this meting out justice fairly and impartially ? a Lover of Fair Play.
