Is 2d; cheese, 8d ; hams and bacon, 10Jd.—Mr Buckland reports fat sheep plentiful at 2s lower; medium cattle, 25s per lOOlbs : best fat, 355; dairy cows, L7 los to L 9 10s. SHARE MARKET. IMr Hooper reports ;as follows :—The share market this week has been rather flat, as little little business has been doing in stock generally, with the exception of Shotover Terrace. I hear a very large number of those have changed hands at a slightly; advanced price. Present . quotations, 12s 6d to 13s ; National Insurance,' 31s 6d to '32s j Standard Insurance, ; 16s ; Arrow River G.M. Co.’s are-inquired for at 7s 6d; 6reymouth> Goal Go.’s shares are not yet in demand, but are expected to be shortly, as the ~ company’s prospects are improving. Rainy Creek Quartz have advanced from 4s 6d to 6s ; Mosgiel, unsaleable; National Bank shares, 13 6s j Colonial Sank shares are largely apS’* idj for, and an astonishingly large number been taken up, showing the general favor the company obtains.
