Vagrancy. Susannah O’Brien was charged, on remand, with having no visible means of support —George O’Brien said prisoner was his wife, but he had to leave her because she was always drunk. She had also pawned his clothes. He allowed her money, and paid the rent of her house.—His Worship said before prisoner could,he brought under the Vagrancy Act it must be shown that she had no visible means of support,and it was proved that her husband contributed to her support. If she were again brought up and charged with habitual drunkenness, she wculd get the full term of imprisonment. He advised her husband to sue for a divorce. Prisoner : So Jhe can if he likes.—She was then discharged.
