The ‘Moberly (Missouri) Monitor’ speaks of a Miss Same Collins, who is supposed to be not less than forty years of age, has lain in bed for a period of thirty years, and strange to say, during that time she has enjoyed general good health. We have conversed with physicians who attended her fifteen years ago, one of them for a period of eight years regularly. When about ten or twelve years of age she was first taken to her bed, and, except on two occasions; phe has never left it. The family lived for a number of years in a log house,' arid after Miss Collins had lain in bed about ten years, all the family were on one occasion absent from her room, and Miss Collins observed a house-snake leisurely winding his way on the joist immediately over her head. Terror seized her, and before she knew it she was occupying a bed on the opposite aide of the room. j n 1859 her brother, John Collins, built-a new house on the plantation, to which, with other members of fhe family, she was removed. With these two exceptions, she has steadfastly kept her place of repose, bhe ,is reported to be happy and contented with her lot.
