* ‘The schooner Excelsior arrived late last night from Kaipata,. with 64,500 feet of timber. She left there on the Slat March, with light N. W. winds, which continued'till passing through the Straits. ‘On. the 4th had S. W. winds, which on the 6th shifted to the N.E., and so continued Untilarriving at the Heads. Sidled up to her jMLchqrage off Grassy Point, but will proceed to Dunedin to discharge cargo. She reports the brigantine Emulous, which left, Kaipara the same day, lying outside the Heads.
