THE BRICE OF MILK.
To the Editor, blB, Some pf your correspondents remind us very much of a spoiled child. Give him all he asks, and let him do as he pleases, and things move on very smoothly ; but curb or check him in his childish whims, and he will kick and growl against the just treatment he receives. Now sir, if your correspondents (when they thought fit to review the action of the milkmen, and express themselves in such strong terms on their demeanor generally) did not prepare themselves for a game of give and tako, they should have refrained from speAking at all. Did they think that the milkmen were going to stand tamely by and hear themselves upbraided in every shape and form, without returning as good as was sent ? And because vve did respond in a strain similar to iheir own they complain. Notwithstanding the misfortune that overtook our note, it seems to have made some impression, having touched your correspondents on some of their tender parts causing them to rush into print, to give it as they think, the name it deserves—viz., meanness ; and still, after all, it is doubtful which of us deserves thai epithet most. For now when they see that they are likely to be foiled in their attempt to deprive the milkmen of their rights, they threaten to resort to another plan—running away with the idea that if they really do fail in the former they ■ are sure to succeed in the latter j but let them try it on and perhaps they will find out that they have not made such a lucky hit as they imagined, t hey doubtless think that by resorting to such threats they will intimidate the milkmen, and cause them to return to their bare crusts again. They will, however, find out their mistake when they try.—We are, kc., ~ Haters qp Mean Actions. Dunedin, March 17.
