SELECTION OF COLONIAL TiEP iIFSENTATIVES. Iho Port Chalmers Naval Brigade fired the final selection at their butts for choice of representatives this morning—Wilson, Lean, and Goldie competing. The weather was beautfui, and the scores satisfactory. Goldie was ill, and advised not to fire. The following were the scores : 200 400 500 600 yds. yds. yds. yds. Tl. Wilson 4342444 3323433 3433243 3404333—88 Lean ... 4442443 2444234 4:133332 3302222—83 Goldie 4324244 4333343 3333430 3220320—77 All but the Riverton Rifles—two of whom have qualified—have now fired. A. G. Oreagh, No. 2, D. Eeid, Artillery, and M‘Leay, Waikari, not appearing at the butts at the appointed time, forfeited their chance of fi'ing, Taylor, Scottish, having given intimation that lie would not fire, Anderson, No. 1 Clutha, the next highest man, was chosen in his place. The eight highest at present are M. Creagh, 50.‘ 1, and Wales, No. 1, 90 each; Wilson, P.C.N.8., 88; J. Buchanan, W.T., and .Richardson, N.D., 87 each; Beal, Waikouaiti, 86; Douglas, No. 1, 85 ; M‘Kenzie, Waikari, 85. Miller, N.D., also scored 85, but made less at the last range than Douglas and M Kenzie, As yet, twenty-three have made the minimum of 80.
