The French war steamer Yire, for New Caledonia, got under weigh last evening. The barque Glyxnpse, for Kaipara, was towed to sea by the Geelong yesterday afternoon. The Colonial Government steamer Lnna got up steam this morning, and proceeded to Dunedin. The Margaret Scollay arrived from Oamaru night, with 216 bags of wheat for transhipment. The brig Graiglachie, from Newcastle, for the Bluff, anchored yesterday inside the Heads. The cutter Hope arrived last night from Kakanui, with, sixty bales of wool for transhipment. , The barque Famingham, from the Mauritius, was removed to the railway pier this morning. 7 On account of the heavy rain this morning, work at the railway pier was suspended, so far as the discharging of the vessels was concerned. The Cyphrene, which takes the February San Francisco mail from Dunedin, is of 1,970 tons, 250 horse-power, and was built m Dundee last year. The barque Caesarewitch was removed from the stream to an inner berth at the railway pier, where she will discharge her piles for the new jetty. The Harbor Oo.’s ; s.s. Beautiful Star arrived from her usual trip to Lyttelton, and intermediate ports at 11.35 a.m. to-day. She sails again on Friday. , The steamers Wanganui, for the Bluff, via Catliu’s River, Maori, for Lyttelton and intermediate ports, and Ladybird, for Northern Ports, sailed last evening. The riia.il steamer Mikado finished coaling last night, ,and was visited by a number of persons yesterday afternoon. She will sail for Sydney to-morrow morning. The s.s. Pretty Jane was taken into Murray’s floating dock yesterday, for the purpose of being cleaned and painted. She will leave for the Northern Ports to-morrow afternoon.
