The amount of revenue reoeived at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day, waß LIOO Os 4d. There is very little to report of doings in the mercantile world during the past week; the arrival of his Excellency the Governor and the Chrismas holidays having almost shelved business, and substituted pleasure as the leading feature of the period. The almost complete blank of transactions in trade renders it unnecessary to say a word about prices, which may be considered, for the present, unchanged. The Medora, from Mauritius, with sugar, has arrived, and it is expected that her cargo will be placed in *ne market at an early date. The privileges in connection with the forthcoming Caledonian games were sold by auction by Messrs M'Landress, Hepburn, and Co. today. There was a large attendance and the bidding was spirited, the results showing an increase of nearly 30 per cent, on last year's prices. The following were the prices realised:—Booth No. I—John Donaldson, Ll9; Nos. 2 and 3—J. Richmond, Ll7 each; 4 and s—Oouzens, L2l each ; 6 and 7—Goodison, L 22 each ; 8 and 9 Armstrong—L2l each ; 10--William Monteith, L 2 3; right of providing race cards—Driscoll, L 8 10s; total, L 212 10s. The total price realised last year was LIG3 15s. The booth at theforthcomingHorticulturalShow was knocked down for Lll 10s.
