Ho saw the prisoner lying partly in a cab, and on speaking to her, she said that she had no means of getting lodgings.—Prisoner said that she often was refused a bed, though she had offered as much as 5s for one.--His Worship: How is it that you arc always drunk?— Prisoner denied the “soft irapeachinent.”— His Worship : Perhaps it is a case of mistaken identity on my part. -The prisoner said his Worship was laboring under a delusion, as she was suffering from weakness.— His Worship: Yes, a weakness for brandy.— 'The Sub-Inspector asked for a remand till tomorrow to produce the prisoner’s sou, and see if he would take care of her, to which his Worship assented, adding that he thought the Refuge or Lunatic Asylum was the more fit place for her.
