Pretty Jane arrived last evening from Oamaru, and passed up to Dunedin. The barques Free Trader, for Auckland, and Southern Cross, for Hobart Town, were towed to sea by the Geelong yesterday afternoon. The B.s. Tarakaki left the railway pier for Northern Ports, with the San Francisco mails, at 4 p.m. yesterday. . The barque WoodviUe was removed from the hulk Cincinatti this morning to alongside the California, to discharge the remainder of her coal- and the barque Jewess was brought alongside the Cincinatti, and commenced to Harbor Company’s s.s. Beautiful Star arrived at 9 o’clock this morning from her trip to Lyttelton and intermediate ports. She lert Port Chalmers on Friday evening, the L-th, and arrived at Timaru at 9 a.m. on the 13th ; left for Lyttelton at 8.45 p.m. same day, and arrived at 11.45 a,m. on the 14th, having experienced fine weather during the passage. On hei return trip she left Lyttelton at 7.30 p.m. on the 15th, and arrived at Timaru at 11.30 a.m. on the 16th, but on account of a heavy N.W. wind blowing, was unable to finish discharging or take in cargo; left for Oamaru at 8 p.m. same day, and arrived there at 2310 this morning but was not tendered; sailed for lort Chalmers at 3 o’clock, and arrived as above. After landing her mails and passengers at the railway pier, she steamed alongside the Otago to discharge. She leaves again for her usual trip to-morrow afternoon.
