A SUGGESTION.
To the Editor. Sir, —As Dr Bcgg is to leave Otago in a few days, and as he was one of the earnest promoters of the settlement of Otago, and took a very active part in its formation, I think it would be only just, and a graceful compliment, to have his portrait placed side by side with those «f Captain Cargill, Rev, Dr Burns, and Mr John M’Glasban. There can be no doubt that Dr Begg feels deep interest in our prosperity, and the Provincial Government would be fully justified in expending a comparatively small sum in obtaining a likeness of one calculated to do so much good to the Province. The services of Mr Irvine can be easily availed of, and do not need recommendation. —I am, Ac., Colonist. Dunedin, November 24.
