Hokitika, November 19. The rifle match representatives have all arrived. The Auckland men, after the matches commenced, had no opportunity to practice. They are well pleased with their reception and trea’ment. All mess together at the barracks. They receive free passes everywhere. On the first day Victoria won the Intercolonial Smallbore Match, with 37 points against New South Wales. Sydney won the All comers’ Match. In the Intercolonial Military Weapon Match, twenty aside, Victoria, New South Wales, and New Zealand competed. It was woa by New South Wales by 65 points. The scoring of the New Zealand men gives Christie and Small 85 points each ; Reid and Hoskins, 83 each; Fox, 82; Goldie, 79; Hunt avd Fenton. 77 each ; Alderton, 78; Stone, 76 ; Halse, 75; M‘Redie, 74; Taylor, 71; M unyard, and Hicks, 69; Thurston and Chapman, 68; Ross, 65; Partington, 61; Stonebridge, 58. The highest score at 200 yards, out of a possible 40, was the 35 made by Alderton ; Hoskins made 54 at 500 yards. At 600 yards all did badly, Reid and Small with 26 each being the highest scorers. On the conclusion of the match, cheers were given for the different teams, Captain Goldie responding for New Zealand. At the 200 yards range New Zealand headed Victoria,- but they fell off afterwards. The general matches commence to-day. All compete. Walker was chosen captain of the New Zealand team. The selection of the twenty is not thought most satisfactory. Port Chalmers, November 20. The Geelong is now (3 55 p.ra.) coming up. There is no sign of the M'Ausland.
