The amount of revenue received at the Cus-tom-house on goods cleared for consumption this day, was L3SG 17s. Business, on the whole, during the week has been quiet, and there is no change in prices. In grain and produce there has not been much business done this week. For prime milling wheat buyers are found at os 3d and 5s 4d, The quantity offering is very small, and unless larger supplies come to hand soon, the market will in a few weeks be quite bare. Second class wheat is not wanted. Fowl wheat is scarce. In oats the inquiry is light; the demand for shipping lots has improved, but at prices scarcely as firm. Good feeding sorts are worth 4s 2d ; and milling, 4s 3d to 4s 4d. Barley, for malting, is dull, at 0s (kl to 7s. _l»r flour the trade wants are met at Ll2 os in sacks, and Ll2 15s in bags; second class, LIO 10s to Lll. Oatmeal, L 22, Pearl Barley, L 29. Pollard, L 5. Bran, L 4 15s to L5 —stocks low. A, Mercer reports for the week ending Nov. 1; retail prices only :—FTesh butter, in prints, best quality, 10d per 1!); second quality, Bcl to lOd per lb. Salt butter, in kegs, 9cl per lb. Prime cheese, Is per lb. Side and rolled bacon, 9d to lOd per lb. Beef barns, 7d to 8d per lb; boiled beef hams, 9d per lb. Colonial hams, Is to Is 2d per lb. English hams, Is 8d per lb. Eggs Is 2d per dozen. -

Auckland. October 31.—Mr Euckland reports ship-borne cattle as lower in price. Sheep are in the usual supply, but of inferior quality, and have been sold at 2s per head lower. Messrs Hunter and Nolan quote beef at 30s to 33s per lOOlbs. . , M , Melbourne, October 21. —The fancy teas were all cleared for Auckland. Ihe new season’s congous were not sold. Muntz metal, 11,kl, Barrett’s pale brand, 7s Gd. Oornsacks, 12s. Salt improving; GOO tons were sold ; holders seek to establish 10s advance. I'lour easier; £l4 is asked. Oats in slightly better demand. 4s was obtained for a cargo of maize. Corasacks, 12s Id to 12s 3d. A cargo of sugar realised full rates. Adelaide, October 24. —What, bs 4d to bs f»d, and quiet. Flour easy. Fears are entertained of a small harvest. LONDON, October 18,—The price of money is increasing, and an advance in the rates of discount is expected in consequence of the anticipated export of gold to America. The wool market prices show a general advance compared with previous sales. Finer qualities of Adelaide wheat are coming in freely, and fetch C4s to Gas per 4961b5. Present cash quotations for Australian copper, L 94 to L 9;». transactions in tin are of the average character, and the market is steady at previous quotations. October 20.- -The rate of discount has risen from six to seven per cent.
