MORE IMAGINATIVE WRITING BY THE "DAILY TIMES."
To the Editor. Sir, —Your morning contemporary the Dally Times appears to have a remarkable faculty for finding out “ mares’ nests.” Yesterday they gave a report of a meeting which never took place, and to-day they favor their readers with the information “that a Court of Potty sessions is to be established for the disposal of criminal business, aud that Mr H. S. Fish, jun., who has been permitted to retain his title of R.M., is to be appointed chairman of the same.” This, so far as I am concerned, is as true as the paragraph of yesterday,, for I have not been permitted to retain my title of R.M., which lapsed when I ceased to be Mayor, and I am not, as far as I am aware, to be appointed chairman of any Court of Petty Sessions. I do, not know if such a Courtis to be established, but if it is, tho Justices in the district would, L presume, meet and appoint their own chairman. Wfien will the Dally Times learn to speak the truth ‘i —I am, &c., H. S. Fish, Jun. Dunedin, October 29.
